Physical Causes

Carrying excessive weight as well as being underweight can cause tiredness because your body has to work harder to get every day tasks done.

Underweight people for example tend to have less muscle strength.

Psychological Causes

Psychological disturbances have a greater impact on how tired we feel than physical causes do. Anxiety for instance disrupts your sleep which can

eventually lead to persistent fatigue. A recent survey conducted by The Mental Health Foundation discovered that almost 1/3 of the population

gets inadequate sleep, which most definitely leads to low energy levels.

Lifestyle Causes

Having bad eating habits and consuming too much alcohol will also lead to tiredness. Alcohol will actually disrupt your sleep cycle so you’re not

actually getting a good nights sleep when you pass out. Another thing to consider is that drinking too much alcohol too often is linked to depression which is a mental state that is often followed with feelings of anxiety and stress.

How to Combat Fatigue

You may first want to rule out health issues since it is a common symptom of diabetes, thyroid disease, anemia, sleep apnea, and arthritis. Medications such as antihistamines, blood pressure medications, and diuretics.

Exercise, you can’t hear that one enough but that is because the benefits are so rich. Yes, the last thing you want to do when you’re exhausted is exercise but exercise has dependably been linked to vigor and improved quality of life. It also helps the heart, lung, and muscles work more efficiently.

Drink plenty of water. Dehydration kills energy and decreases learning and concentration. Even if you are simply doing house hold chores you need to remember to rehydrate. You know you are not drinking enough water if your urine is darker than straw colored (pale yellow).

You have to get to bed early. Lack of sleep is the leading cause of day time fatigue. If it’s hard to get those 8 hours in try taking a small nap, 10 minutes is all you need recharge.

Stay in sync with your body. Morning people have more energy after they wake but some people feel their highest level of energy at night. Do your more demanding and vigorous chores when you feel the most energized .

Maintain a healthy weight. Cut back on portions, eat balanced meals, and remember  to stay active!
