I have competed in the USA Memory Championship 4 times and never finished less than 4th place.

2008 I was 12 weeks away from the sands of Afghanistan and competed and came in a very respectable 4th place. I was happy considering I had no clue what to expect!!

2009 I was a MAN ON A MISSION! The USA Memory Championship was all I could think about the entire 12 months prior. I not only won…I dominated

2010 I was a defending my title and feeling a little bit of stress. Being on top you have a bull’s eye on your back and people who were friendly to me before weren’t so friendly anymore. I guess I was ok with that and understood. I am very proud of my win in 2010, I won despite only having 45 minutes sleep the night prior!

2011 I was a 2 Time USA Memory Champion and once again defending my title. I was relaxed as I could be and more than I expected. I was having fun and enjoying it but still defending a title

2012…I have NOTHING to prove and NOTHING to defend!! No pressure and loose as a goose! 2012 is all about FUN for me…going for broke and just having a ball. I do have a few things up my sleeve to insure the event is a blast for me and will reveal those March 24th (the date of the tournament!)

The www.usamemorychampionship.com is a TON of fun and I do predict this year I will have more fun and enjoy it more than any year prior. If you even have the slightest interest in competing in the USA Memory Championship read my article on it.

What are the odds of me winning? I say about 30%. I would also say the other top competitors chances are all about 30%. Anything can happen in a playoff format. Not great odds of winning but don’t think anyone else has greater odds. I did receive a speaking request to speak in London on March 24th that would have paid at least 5 figures….so declining that speaking engagement makes it even more important to hit my goal of:

1. Having fun

2. Making it memorable

3.Handling myself in a way I can be proud of.

I promise to update you March 24th!!

Also, remeber stress is the worst enemy to your memory. The more relaxed you can stay in life the better for your memory. That is your memory improvement tip of the day :)

In the meantime, have FUN!! I will!!
