Reading is good for your brain, I don’t have to tell you that.
But is there an advantage to reading information instead of viewing or listening to it? It takes more brainpower to process information through reading than through audio and visual elements. As you soak up information when you read, parts of the brain used for other functions such as associative learning, language, or vision, connect in a specific neural circuit. Greater concentration and intellect is called into action when you read because the brain has to give a sentence reason. Reading also gives you more time to understand the information you are taking in. Watching a video or listening to audio does not allow you the time to really take in much information unless you press pause and rewind. Reading also calls forth your imagination and forces you to produce and construct a story.
Reading not only gives you a feeling of richness but also exercises your brain and helps keep your memory sharp, brilliant, and quick. Besides, the book is always better than the movie.
